In anticipation of the Chinese New Year, which is now less than a week away on January 23, 2012, we’re saluting Sandow Media for their launch of Luxe Interiors + Design China. I write for a number of their books (though I don’t think I’ll be tackling Chinese any time soon!) and always love the clips published in their beautiful editions. When I saw the announcement that they are debuting in China come through my inbox, I was curious as to how vice president and editor-in-chief Pam Jaccarino felt about their entrée into the Asian market. She took the time out of her killer schedule to share this with me:

“We are thrilled to expand the Luxe Interiors + Design brand, literally around the world, to China. Last month I attended Guangzhou Design Week and it was very apparent that the designers and consumers there have a burgeoning appetite for design. They are interested in discovering more about American architecture and design, from the brands to the big players. China is not a market to be ignored. The country’s sheer size and robust economy will have an increasing impact and influence on global design. It’s gratifying for our brand to be part of this expansive exchange of ideas.”

Congratulations to everyone at Sandow and good luck as you roll out your newest publication during the year of the Dragon! In the Chinese Zodiac calendar, the dragon is the mightiest sign, symbolizing ambition and dominance. It’s wonderful to see a design magazine flourishing as heartily as Luxe Interiors + Design continues to thrive!

I’ll preview my trip to Miami on Thursday where I will be holding a book signing for Four Florida Moderns hosted by the JANUS et Cie showroom in DCOTA. One of the architects featured in the book, Chad Oppenheim, is on a role winning awards (we’re so not surprised!), and we’ll unveil Quinta, one of JANUS et Cie’s new lines. Woot!
